What kind of genres are you looking for?
Action-Thrillers, Action-Sci Fi, Historical Action, Action-horror, Thrillers, based on original screenplays, graphic novels, comic books, video games, novels, etc.
Basically big "event films" that have merchandising and global branding possibilities. We are also open to certain micro-budget genre films if they are highly original and have a huge upside for commercial success.
Any particular locations of the story setting?
Anywhere, USA, Canada (Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal).
We are also aggressively looking for a project that can be filmed in either Belgium, Germany, France, Austria.
What if I am a WGA writer who has had a few hits at the box office and now my agent can't get anything going for me.
We are open to both established writers and new ones who have very cool stories to tell. A lot of established screenwriters understand that the spec market is dead and while they may be currently writing for a tv series or doing rewrites on other people's scripts, they are looking at a stack of unproduced scripts and wondering why they have not been made.
We realize there are hundreds of established writers who have great story-driven character scripts that are highly original and which were not made for one reason or another.
What if I am a new writer and new director and just have to attach myself to my project?
Unless you had films that were theatrically released in the United States and overseas, we are only looking for stand alone writers that we can package with bankable directors and cast.
On the flipside if you absolutely have to direct and fall under our guidelines for film finance consulting for new filmmakers, thats another option.
I wrote a great screenplay based on a video game, graphic novel, or other source material.
You must have provable chain of title and rights. If you wrote something based on existing material, you must have a written agreement and deal terms in place with the original source.
What if I am an indie graphic novel or video game author and/or publisher and have an awesome idea that was optioned a few times by the studios but never made and the rights are available?
Please submit it.
How much do you pay for buying my scripts?
Because of current industry economics, we do not purchase spec scripts for them to be thrown into development hell and maybe produced. We are only looking to back film projects that we will actively and aggressively package and produce. Based on your track record, budget of the film, genre, etc, you can expect to receive a writer fee that is beyond WGA minimum's once all elements are in place and film goes into production. We do not look for options on material beyond 12 months with a 12 month extension pending us attaching a director or cast. But we will negotiate with you fairly.
